Hours:

Full-time or Part-time, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Position Summary:

Controls sanitation levels of the deli

Work Environment:  

  •   Hands-on store setting
  •   Non-smoking
  •   Work area includes food, stoves, knives, slippery floors, and possible extreme   heat

Experience:

No experience necessary

Technical Skills/   Training/Certification:

  •   Ability to read company materials (e.g., recipes, charts, training materials, etc.)
  •   Successfully completed East Bay Deli training program
  •   Good understanding of sanitation requirements
  •   Understand how to use cookware and machinery

Physical   Requirements:

  •   Bend, stoop, and reach to receive inventory, stock, serve customers and clean store
  •   Carry up to 50lbs.
  •   Stand and walk on a hard surface for 10 to 12 hours a day
  •   Quickly identify safety placards and hazardous situations to avoid or minimize   injuries
  •   Identify food quality through taste, texture, color, and odor

Responsibilities:  

  •  Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwashers or by hand.
  •   Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
  •   Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
  •   Sweep or scrub floors.
  •   Clean garbage cans with water or steam.
  •   Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
  •   Transfer supplies or equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks.
  •   Receive and store supplies.
  •   Load or unload trucks that deliver or pick up food or supplies.
  •   Handling and moving objects
  •   Retrieve or place goods from/into storage
  •   Wash dishes or related utensils
  •   Clean work areas
  •   Load, unload, or stack containers, materials, or products
  •   Getting information
  •   Organizing, planning, and prioritizing work
  •   Inspecting equipment, structures, or material
  •   Making decisions and solving problems
  •   Assisting and caring for others
  •   Identifying objects, actions, and events
  •   Understand government health or food service regulations
  •   Stock or organize goods
  •   Product knowledge
  •   Properly maintain correct sanitizer concentration levels
  •   Perform other duties as assigned by management
